Information stored in your browser
We use your browser's local storage, not cookies, to remember a few settings on your device. This data never leaves your device unless described below, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
- Your interface language.
- Your last seat selection (which AI players you chose).
- A cached copy of the list of available AI players.
- Any custom AI players you add, including the API endpoint, model name and API key you enter.
- If you subscribe to Pro: a signed membership token and the billing email for your subscription.
Information sent to our servers
When an AI player needs to make a move, your browser sends a request to our server containing:
- The current game state and move history needed for the AI to decide.
- For custom AI players only: the endpoint, model name and API key from your browser, so the request can be forwarded.
We use this information only to process the request and return the AI's move. We do not store game records or your custom API keys on our servers. To prevent abuse, we use your IP address temporarily to rate-limit requests. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested pages) for security and troubleshooting, retained only for a limited period.
Pro subscriptions, payments and email
Pro subscriptions on the website are processed by Stripe. Your card details and billing email are entered on Stripe's checkout page and are held by Stripe, not by us; we never see or store your full card number. We do not keep a user database. To confirm a subscription, our server asks Stripe whether it is active and then gives your browser a signed membership token.
If you ask to restore Pro on another device, we look up your email address at Stripe and, if it has an active subscription, send a one-time sign-in link to that address. The email is sent through Cloudflare's email service. We do not store your email address or use it for marketing. Subscriptions bought in our iPhone, iPad or Mac app are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
AI model providers
To get a move from a built-in AI player, the game data described above is sent, through an API service provider, to the company that operates that model (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Moonshot, DeepSeek or others). For custom AI players, it is sent to the endpoint you configured. These providers process the data under their own privacy policies. Game data never includes your name, email, payment details or any account information. Please do not type personal information into the game or into custom AI settings beyond what is needed.
Recordings, screenshots and PDF exports
Match videos, move screenshots and PDF reports are created entirely inside your browser. They are saved to your device only when you choose to download them, and are never uploaded to us.
Third-party resources, cookies and tracking
The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address. We do not use advertising, analytics trackers, social media pixels or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Children, your rights and changes to this policy
AI Game Arena is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because we do not keep accounts or user profiles, most of your data is under your control in your own browser; subscription and billing records are held by Stripe or Apple. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
